Laws and Order

Order in Life

To lead a comfortable and happy life in a friendly atmosphere in a society of people with
various backgrounds, we all need to observe the common courtesy in our daily lives.
Such common courtesy is actually not enforced by laws or cannot impose penalties on those
who do not abide by it. erefore, if we observe the common courtesy, we can create mutual
trust. If we communicate and cooperate with one another based on mutual trust, it will work
as a social capital, as important as nancial capital, and we can build a reliable and happy
society together.
Everyday common courtesy is as follows.
  • You have to greet your neighbors politely and keep good relations with them. When you meet
someone who is older than you, you have to greet them first.
  • When you get on a bus or subway, you have to keep the line and wait for your turn. When you
see senior citizens, the physically challenged and pregnant women standing inside a bus or
subway, you have to give up your seats to the elderly and physically challenged.
  • When you get on a crowded elevator, you have to push the button for other passengers. You
have to let those physically challenged get on or off the elevator first.
  • If you use a public phone, you have to make your call short for others. You have to turn off
your cell phone or switch it to the vibration mode in a public place.
  • When you use public facilities such as public toilets, you have to wait for your turn.
  • When you track or climb up a mountain, you are not allowed to carry cigarettes or lighters
with you. Please leave them at the management office. A wild fire can cause permanent
    catastrophic damage.
  • When you cross the road, please use a crosswalk or pedestrian overpass. If there isn’t any
crosswalk or pedestrian overpass, please cross the road after checking left and right to
ensure that there is no danger.
  • When you go out, please check whether the gas valve is locked once again.
  • You have to park your car only in a designated area.
  • You have to smoke cigarettes only in a designated area.
  • You must not drive a car under influence of alcohol. When you sit in a passenger seat, please
    fasten your seatbelt.
  • When you live in a public housing like an apartment, we have to take extra care not to disturb
your neighbors with excessive noises, which include children running, slamming doors,
barking dogs, etc. Please refrain from using the washing machine, vacuum cleaner or fitness
equipment in early morning or late evening.
  • When you walk with your dogs, please keep them on a short leash and bring a plastic bag to
collect dog feces. You have to clean up feces after your dogs defecated on the street.
  • When you drive a car in the “school zone”designated to protect children, you have to slow
down your car to less than 30 kilometers per hour to avoid traffic accidents.
