Special Conditions for Foreign Applicants

conversation between foreign studentsIt is required to complete certain level of mathematical courses to get admitted to an undergraduate or a graduate program in Korea. For undergraduate programs, applicants must complete the 12 years of elementary, middle and high school courses. If a country’s educational system is different from the Korean’s, so an applicant is applying for an undergraduate program after finishing 11th grade, then the applicant must apply to a Korean school after taking 1 or more years of college courses in the applicant’s country. However, it is guaranteed to consider lacking course works up to 6 months if an applicant is losing a semester caused by transferring to Korea from another country.

※ Applicants with Completion of 12 years of Elementary, Middle and High School Education

  • If an applicant had 12 years of elementary, middle and high school education in more than 2 different countries, the applicant gets special considerations for lacking course works up to 1 semester (6 months) if the applicant is applying for an undergraduate admission or transfer from the 3rd country.
  • The special conditions for undergraduate admissions of Korean nationals abroad or foreign students are the following. Foreign students or students who had more than 12 years of education in other country can be freely admitted to an undergraduate program only depending on the policies that each school has. For Korean nationals abroad, the total number of admission must not exceed 2% of the total admitted students of a school for the year and 10 % for a department.
